Citizens of many countries can enter Mongolia visa-free for stays of up to 30 days. Nationals of the USA, EU countries, Japan, South Korea, and several others are exempt. We recommend checking the latest requirements with the Mongolian Embassy in your country before travel, as policies can change.
You can apply for a Mongolian tourist visa at any Mongolian Embassy or Consulate. The standard tourist (T) visa is valid for 30 days. You will need a completed application form, a valid passport (with at least 6 months validity beyond your travel dates), a passport-sized photo, and the applicable fee. Processing usually takes 3–5 business days.
You can book directly through our website by selecting your preferred trip and filling out the booking form, or contact our team via email or WhatsApp. We will send you a booking confirmation along with a deposit invoice within 24 hours.
We accept international bank transfers (SWIFT), major credit and debit cards (Visa, Mastercard), and PayPal. For guests already in Ulaanbaatar we also accept cash in USD, EUR, or MNT. Full payment details are provided on your invoice.
A 30% deposit is required to secure your booking, with the remaining balance due 30 days before departure. Cancellations made more than 30 days before the trip start date receive a full refund of the deposit minus a 5% processing fee. Cancellations within 30 days are non-refundable. We strongly recommend travel insurance.
The peak travel season is June to September when the steppe is green, the weather is warm (15–30 °C), and the famous Naadam Festival takes place in July. Spring (April–May) and autumn (September–October) offer fewer crowds and beautiful landscapes. Winter tours (November–March) are available for the hardy traveler seeking a unique icy experience.
Mongolia's weather can vary greatly within a single day. We recommend layering: a warm fleece or down jacket, windproof outer layer, comfortable walking/hiking boots, sunscreen, sunglasses, and a hat. For ger stays, modest clothing is appreciated. A full packing list is provided with your booking confirmation.
Most of our multi-day trips include three meals per day prepared by our camp cook or local families. Meals feature traditional Mongolian dishes such as khorkhog (stone-cooked meat), tsuivan (stir-fried noodles), and dairy products. Please inform us of any dietary requirements or allergies at the time of booking.
Activity levels vary by trip and are clearly marked as Easy, Moderate, or Challenging in each itinerary. Easy trips suit most fitness levels and include gentle horse rides and short walks. Challenging trips may involve multi-day trekking or long horseback rides. Our team can help you choose the right trip for your fitness level.
Accommodation depends on the itinerary and can include traditional Mongolian ger (yurt) camps, boutique lodges, and hotel stays in Ulaanbaatar. Sleeping in an authentic ger camp under a sky full of stars is one of the highlights of any Mongolia trip. All camps include clean bedding and basic washing facilities.
Mongolia is generally a safe destination for travelers. Violent crime against tourists is rare. As with any destination, we advise taking standard precautions: keep valuables secure, stay with your guide in remote areas, and follow local customs. Our guides carry first-aid kits and are experienced in remote terrain.
No specific vaccinations are officially required for entry into Mongolia. However, we recommend being up to date with routine vaccinations (tetanus, hepatitis A & B, typhoid). For travel to certain rural areas, tick-borne encephalitis is worth discussing with your doctor. Consult a travel health clinic at least 4–6 weeks before departure.
The main point of entry is Chinggis Khaan International Airport in Ulaanbaatar, which has direct flights from Beijing, Moscow, Seoul, Tokyo, Frankfurt, Istanbul, and other hubs. MIAT Mongolian Airlines, Air China, Korean Air, Turkish Airlines, and Aeroflot are among the carriers serving this route. You can also enter by train on the Trans-Mongolian Railway from Beijing or Irkutsk.
Mobile coverage and 4G internet are reliable in Ulaanbaatar and most towns. In remote countryside areas coverage can be limited or absent. We recommend downloading offline maps (Maps.me, Google Maps) and key documents before heading into the steppe. Some ger camps offer satellite Wi-Fi for a small additional fee.
