Amarbayasgalant Monastery is one of the most important and beautifully preserved Buddhist monasteries in Mongolia. It is located in the valley of the Iven River, at the foot of Burenkhaan Mountain in Selenge Province.
Today, the monastery remains an active pilgrimage site. A large stupa stands near the complex, surrounded by 108 prayer wheels engraved with the Soyombo symbol. Behind the stupa is a monumental statue complex of Je Tsongkhapa and his disciples, standing about 13 meters tall.
Every year in August, a special ritual called the “Gonjor Bumba” ceremony is performed, using sacred objects and rare herbs as part of traditional Buddhist practices.
