This 6-day tour is a cultural and educational program that combines the majestic landscapes of the Mongolian Altai—often called the “Roof of Mongolia”—with the immense Potanin Glacier, stretching over 20 km, offering a glimpse into geological history dating back millions of years. Through the Shiveet Khairkhan rock art gallery, a UNESCO World Heritage site, travelers will trace the cultural legacy of nomads from the Bronze Age to the Xiongnu period.
During the trip, guests will relax along the crystal-clear shores of Khoton and Khurgan Lakes, nestled at the edge of Siberian larch forests, while experiencing the warm hospitality of Kazakh nomads who have preserved the tradition of eagle hunting for centuries. You will also be introduced to their unique handicrafts, traditional cuisine, and the enchanting melodies of the dombra.
A horseback journey toward the slopes of Mount Khuiten (4,374 m above sea level) will reveal the raw power of untouched nature, while the landscapes of the Tsagaan Gol valley and Sogoo Mountain offer unforgettable moments for photography enthusiasts.

Day-by-Day Itinerary
Our journey begins in Olgii City, located in the westernmost region of Mongolia and the homeland of the Kazakh people, descendants of the ancient Turkic tribes. Upon your arrival, our professional guide and driver will welcome you and we will depart toward the beautiful freshwater lakes of Khoton and Khurgan.
Throughout the journey, the snow-capped peaks of the Altai Mountains will reveal their majestic beauty. While passing through Ulaankhus District, we will visit a Kazakh eagle hunter family who continues the centuries-old tradition of training and hunting with golden eagles. Here, you will experience the unique lifestyle, traditional culture, and warm hospitality of the Kazakh people firsthand.
The Khoton and Khurgan Lakes are located near the border with China and form a remote paradise surrounded by Siberian larch forests and high mountain meadows.
This region is home to the summer settlements of Kazakh nomadic families. Around the lakes, visitors can explore hidden waterfalls, Bronze Age rock carvings, and ancient Turkic stone monuments. These historical remains serve as evidence of the nomadic civilizations that have existed in this region for thousands of years.
Today, we will travel through the valley of the milky-white Tsagaan River toward Altai Tavan Bogd National Park, home to some of Mongolia’s highest peaks.
The main destination of the day is Shiveet Khairkhan Mountain, a sacred mountain worshipped by local communities. Here, you will admire one of the largest rock art galleries in Asia, listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, featuring historical images dating from the Bronze Age to the Xiongnu period (209 BCE–1000 BCE).
Today, we will travel by horseback to the foothills of Khüiten Peak, the highest point in Mongolia, rising 4,374 meters above sea level, located in the heart of Altai Tavan Bogd National Park.
Here, you will reach the edge of the Potanin Glacier, Mongolia’s largest glacier, which is approximately 2 million years old and stretches for about 20 km.
The breathtaking view of the permanently snow-covered "Five Sacred Peaks" and the endless white glacier landscape will provide an unforgettable experience, allowing you to witness the magnificent beauty and power of nature.
After breakfast, we will return through the high mountainous and semi-desert steppe landscapes of Ulaankhus District.
Along the way, we will admire the beautiful view of Sogoog Mountain, covered with a permanent snow cap, creating a perfect opportunity for photographers to capture unique landscapes.
This route offers dramatic changes in scenery and allows travelers to experience the diverse landscapes of the Altai Mountains in a single journey.
We will transfer you to Olgii Airport for your flight back to Ulaanbaatar.
Beginning the city tour from the heart of the capital, Sükhbaatar Square, we will visit the Government Palace and the Chinggis Khaan Statue. We will then continue to Gandantegchinlen Monastery to explore Mongolia’s Buddhist cultural heritage.
At noon, you will have the opportunity to taste traditional Mongolian dishes such as buuz (steamed dumplings) and khuushuur (fried meat pastries) at a local restaurant along the main road.
Afterward, we will visit the National Museum of Mongolia to gain a brief overview of the history and culture of the nomadic people.
In the afternoon, you can explore cashmere products at the Gobi or Cashmere stores. As evening falls, we will visit Zaisan Hill to enjoy the spectacular view of Ulaanbaatar’s illuminated cityscape.
You will have free time until your departure flight. At the scheduled time, our company driver will transfer you to the airport, bringing your unforgettable journey through Mongolia to an end.
