Trip Overview
The adventure begins west of Ulaanbaatar in Hustai National Park, one of Mongolia's finest wildlife reserves. The following day, you will photograph the breathtaking landscapes of Elsen Tasarkhai, often called the "Mini Gobi," where rolling sand dunes meet green grasslands and rocky mountains. The journey then continues into the UNESCO World Heritage-listed Orkhon Valley, where you'll photograph the ancient capital of Kharkhorin and the magnificent Erdene Zuu Monastery. On the fourth day, you'll spend time at the tranquil shores of Ugii Lake, photographing waterbirds and capturing portraits that reflect the authentic lifestyle of Mongolia's nomadic people. Finally, return to Ulaanbaatar while photographing the endless steppe landscapes and memorable moments along the way.

Day-by-Day Itinerary
Depart from Ulaanbaatar and travel to Hustai National Park, home to the world's only remaining wild horse, the Takhi (Przewalski's horse). Spend the day photographing these remarkable animals in their natural habitat while exploring one of Mongolia's most successful wildlife conservation areas. The park also offers opportunities to photograph red deer, marmots, birds of prey, and sweeping steppe landscapes.

After breakfast, travel approximately 210 km to Elsen Tasarkhai, often referred to as the Mini Gobi. This unique landscape combines rolling sand dunes, green grasslands, and rocky mountains within a relatively small area, creating exceptional photographic opportunities.
Visit a local camel-herding family to photograph camels against the golden dunes and capture authentic environmental portraits. Guests may also enjoy a camel ride or walk across the dunes while photographing the ever-changing desert scenery.

Travel approximately 80 km into the UNESCO World Heritage-listed Orkhon Valley, one of Mongolia's most historically significant regions.
Begin with a visit to the local museum to gain insight into the area's history before exploring the ancient capital of Kharkhorin and the magnificent Erdene Zuu Monastery, Mongolia's oldest Buddhist monastery. Photograph its impressive architecture, intricate artistic details, and, where appropriate, monks performing daily prayers. Visitors are kindly asked to photograph respectfully while inside the monastery.

Travel approximately 80 km to the beautiful freshwater Ugii Lake, surrounded by Mongolia's protected steppe landscapes.
Visit a local nomadic family to photograph traditional pastoral life, authentic portraits, and everyday cultural activities. Later, enjoy time along the lakeshore photographing waterbirds and the peaceful natural scenery. As a Ramsar-listed wetland, Ugii Lake is one of Mongolia's most important habitats for migratory waterbirds and an excellent destination for both wildlife and landscape photography.

Return to Ulaanbaatar (approximately 330 km) for a full day of urban and cultural photography.
Begin at Sukhbaatar Square, where you'll photograph the Government Palace and the impressive Chinggis Khaan Monument before visiting Gandan Monastery, Mongolia's largest Buddhist monastery.
Enjoy a traditional Mongolian lunch featuring specialties such as buuz (steamed dumplings) and khuushuur (fried meat pastries). Continue to the National Museum of Mongolia for an introduction to the country's rich nomadic history.
In the afternoon, browse high-quality Mongolian cashmere products at the GOBI Cashmere Store, and finish the day at Zaisan Hill, where panoramic views of Ulaanbaatar provide spectacular opportunities for twilight and night photography.

Enjoy free time before your scheduled flight. At the appointed time, your driver will transfer you to Chinggis Khaan International Airport, marking the end of your unforgettable photography adventure through Mongolia.
