Into the World of the Golden Eagle: 9-Day Eagle Hunter Cultural Tour
Trip Overview
The tour begins in Ulaanbaatar, where you will settle into your hotel before exploring the city's major attractions, including Zaisan Hill and Gandan Tegchenling Monastery.
You will then fly to Olgii, the capital of Bayan-Olgii Province, where you will visit a traditional Kazakh eagle hunter's family. This marks the beginning of the most memorable part of the journey. You will learn about the daily life of eagle hunters, observe how they train and care for their golden eagles, and gain a deeper understanding of their hunting traditions. There will also be opportunities for both horseback riding and hiking through the spectacular landscapes of the Altai Mountains.
During Days 3–5, you will witness the traditional practice of hunting with golden eagles and, in some cases, have the opportunity to participate in selected activities. This remarkable tradition is one of the world's rarest living cultural heritages and survives today only in Mongolia and a few regions of Central Asia.
At the end of the tour, you will return to Olgii, where you can visit the local museum and traditional market, enjoy a performance of Kazakh folk music and dance, and then fly back to Ulaanbaatar, bringing your unforgettable journey to a close.

There, you will have the opportunity to meet the eagle hunter in person, learn about their lifestyle, and become familiar with the unique traditions of the Kazakh eagle hunters.
After breakfast, you will have the opportunity to explore the surrounding area by horseback riding or hiking.
At noon, you will say farewell to the eagle hunter family who welcomed you during your stay.

Afterward, you will be transferred to the airport for your flight back to Ulaanbaatar.

We will visit the Bogd Khan Palace Museum, the former residence of Mongolia’s last king, and explore its unique architecture and historical exhibits.
Today, the palace operates as a museum preserving valuable aspects of Mongolia’s history and culture.
We will also visit Zaisan Hill, where you can enjoy a panoramic view of the entire city.
At the end of the tour, you will have the opportunity to purchase Mongolian cashmere products and traditional souvenirs if desired.
